June 4, 1933 - March 18, 2024

Thelma Naomi Smith, 90, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024.  Born June 4, 1933, in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Melda Mahan.

In addition to her father and mother, Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Matt Smith; brother, Forster Mahan; sons-in-law: David Wyant and Donny Jay Brock; nephew, Billy Ray Mahan; and sister-in-law, Lela Mahan.

Naomi leaves behind four daughters: Patsy Smith Wyant, Frances Darlene Smith Brock, Cathy Lynn Smith Vanover, and Donna Marlene Smith: three grandchildren: Destiny Danielle Brock, Donny Jay Brock, Jr., and Amber Lenae Vanover; two great-grandchildren: Madix Brockson Mahoney and Gabriel Matthew Colter; two nieces: Charlotte Mahan Standifer and Renee Merritt Smith; two great-nephews: Waylon Standifer (Sharon) and Steven Standifer; and sister-in-law, Patricia Mahan.

Naomi attended services at different local church congregations over the years including Center Street Church of God, Parkway Church of God, and New Hope Ministries Church of God.  For many years, she was well-known as an Avon representative and the lady with the red hair.

Naomi also enjoyed spending time outside in her flower garden or on the front porch swing.  She loved all animals and birds, especially cats and dogs, even strays, and provided the best of care with living accommodations

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2024, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin.

Hart Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

    So very sorry for your loss. Don wanted to come but he’s in the nursing rehabilitation hospital. We sure hate this. Prayers for your family 🙏.
