Velear Messer
July 12, 1938 - March 27, 2020Velear Messer, 81, of Corbin passed away Friday, March 27, 2020, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born July 12, 1938, in Keavy, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Fermin and Effie Miller.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Messer whom she married on January 28, 1961; and siblings: Louie Miller, Margie Parman, Dixie Reynolds, Betty Ruth Lewis, Lowel Miller, and Billie Dean Miller.
She leaves behind her son, Bobby Messer (Teresa); grandchildren: Courtney Centers (Nathan) and Christopher Wyatt (Michelle); great grandchild: Asher Lee Centers; siblings: Sylvania Romines (Clyde), Ruby Lanham (Mack), Doyle Miller (Linda), Paul Miller (Geri), Bobby Miller (Ruby), Judy Rooper (Greg), and Roger Miller; and 38 nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, the funeral and burial services will be private, allowing only 10 immediate family members to attend. The family appreciates everyone’s understanding of these restrictions and requests prayers during this most difficult time.
