Virginia K. Crider, 98, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, at The Heritage in Corbin, Kentucky.  She was born October 21, 1925, in Harlan County.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Crider; father, Zack Noe; mother, Mary Katherine Carr; father, J.C. Carr; and siblings: Nancy Crumley, Ray Noe, Merle Noe, Jim Noe, and Spencer Noe.

She leaves behind her daughter, Kathie Crider; son, Tim Crider; grandson, Vince Kersey and wife Vicky; grandson, Ryan Kersey and wife Michelle; granddaughter, Alle Crampton and husband Cory; six great-grandchildren: Dylan Kersey, Kara Kersey, Henry Kersey, Clay Crampton, Montgomery Crampton, and Landry Crampton; brother, Wade Carr and wife Pat; and brother, Jacob Carr and wife Elrose.

A woman of serene demeanor yet resolute will, she cherished her family with an intense passion.  Her presence at family gatherings radiated warmth and joy, affirming her role as a pillar of unconditional love.  Her gentle humor and proficiency in storytelling captivated us all, while her sage advice left a lasting impact on everyone she touched.  Virginia was deeply loved and her absence will be profoundly felt.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2023, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Josh Pollitt and Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.

Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Ryan Kersey, Vince Kersey, Dylan Kersey, Mike Kersey, Rick Haddock, and Bill Hagerty; honorary pallbearer will be Paul Sutton.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street Corbin, KY 40701.

    Such an amazing and beautiful person she was ! I still have the graduation gown all 3 of the Huff children wore when they graduated from her preschool. She was dedicated and kind, a perfect example to set for all these children in their first formative year outside the home.
    I send my love and prayers for all the family and a big “thank you “ to this wonderful lady for her help in molding a generation of Corbin children into better adults.

    Kathie, what a wonderful mom, as she tolerated us as teens. There is such a beautiful bond between moms & their children. What a journey you had for 73 years. God gave a lot of years and I am sure memories are surely flooding over. Even now when I get ready for bed I stiill say, “ Goiod night mom, love you & see you in the morning. Need an ear, just call.
