Wendy Lee Light Hart was born to Jamie and Donald Light in Bogalusa, Louisiana, on April 17, 1965, and found comfort in the arms of Jesus on June 26, 2026, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, while doing what she loved best: spending time with her family. Wendy was a lifelong resident of Corbin, Kentucky, an active member of Central Baptist Church, attended her Esther Sunday School Class and several Bible Studies, and was an avid Corbin Redhound fan.

Upon winning the crown of eternal life in her heavenly home, she joined her husband, father of her children and lifetime companion, Kelvin Hart; her grandson, Cash Cole Hart; her mother and dearest confidante, Jamie Light; and her precious daddy, Donald Light, along with her mother and father-in-law, Mildred and Roy Hart, and her brother-in-law, Jeff Chadwell. We are left here to grieve with envy at the great reunion feast they are sharing at the Master’s table.

Entrusted to carry on her legacy of strength, compassion, and steadfast faith are those who called her “Mom”: David (Joy) Hart, Natoshia (Jody) Mouser, and Allyson (Samuel) Daugherty. Wendy was known as “Nana”to Silas Hart, Anslee Mouser, Jax Mouser, Tori (Cole) Brock, Maci Mouser, Millee Kate Daugherty, and Avery Grace Daugherty. Wendy also leaves behind her sister, Donna Chadwell, and her brother, Jeff (Mary) Light, as well as a host of nieces and nephews to continue their journeys.

Wendy was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, and cherished employer. In her early career, she worked for Corbin Pathology and continued on in March 2000 to work by her husband and son, David as they built Hart’s Cycle Sales in Middlesboro, Kentucky. She quickly became loved and cherished by her Bell County employees who later grew to be family. The strength and dedication to her Lord and Savior is a true testament and example that Wendy lived by at home and in her workplace.

We grieve her absence but celebrate her reunion with The Master, as this was her most precious goal. As a mother to her own children, as well as a positive Christian example to many youth, she set lanterns along the path of salvation that we may all join her in Heaven when God calls upon each of us.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Central Baptist Church with Josh Pollitt officiating.  Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 P.M. Sunday also at Central Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central Baptist Church Building Fund 201 West 4th Street Corbin, KY 40701.

Hart Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
