Carolyn Hopper, 83, of Corbin passed away Friday, September 2, 2016, at The Heritage. She was a member of the Church of God.

Born June 21, 1933, in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Flossie Ford. In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Orville Jackson “Jack” Hopper, and 10 siblings.

She is survived by her husband, Arnold Stewart; son, David S. Hopper and wife Anita; three grandchildren: Miranda Hamilton, William D. Hopper, and Nathan Hopper; great grandchild, Ezra Liam Hamilton; brother, Charles “Chulia” Ford of Corbin; and sister, Sara Hackler of Bellingham, WA, as well as other relatives and numerous friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in the Hart Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Amon Couch and Rev. Phillip Wynn officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until the funeral hour at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff of The Heritage and to Dr. Kelvin Perry for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ministries of Central Baptist Church.

    David, we are truly sorry for your loss. My aunt Carol was always special to me, if I wasn’t sick I would have tried to be there. We always thought of her as a ” Grand Lady of the South”. I’ll miss her.

    There only 2 of the Ford Children left, Chulie and Me.
    sold my House, & now Live in Reb Nursing Home.
    I am treated well & have Private Room with my own Furniture. Ava lives near & has become my Parent. The Best. Ava & Josh have a son named Logan and is now 9= Jeff lives near however, I have not seen him in over a year. After his Dad passed away, he is still grieving. Clyde always said, he rather him be with than anyone . I knew the Bride was #1.
    I turned 82 on Sept 05. Margie left in the past year. She was 90, Bert 5-31-2015. Bert & Chulie were like Dad. Love you all. Carol was my good Sister & she became like my Parent.
    Tell Theresa Hello for me.
    I was so blessed when God choose the perfect Family for me.
