Larry Wayne Floyd, 82, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021. Born March 13, 1938, in Keavy, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Raymond and Eula Floyd.

Larry was a member of Locust Grove Christian Church. As well, he was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He also formerly worked as a foreman at National Standard Company and as a mechanic for Rudd Equipment Company from which he was retired.

In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene Southerland.

He leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Jean Floyd; son, Joe Floyd and wife Linda; granddaughter, Lindsay Jones and husband, Capt. Landon Jones; two great granddaughters: Willow Grace Jones and Lillianne Faith Jones (expected arrival on March 15); and special niece: Denise Maynard. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews and many friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, February 1, 2021, at Locust Grove Cemetery with David Scott officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by the D.A.V. Chapter 158.

    I am so saddened to hear of Larry’s death. He was always like a grandfather to me more than a neighbor as a child. I love him and Jean so very much.
